I smell the roses that populate my mind
And I taste a nectar that renders me blind
And I cannot resist this burning sensation
I think I just might give into temptation
You're the prettiest flower I can see
And I land on your petal— do you even notice me?
And your red is black against my blue sky
A kaleidoscope of color in my beady eyes
You sway so softly in tempestuous winds
And your green leaves flutter, your dainty stem bends
And I crawl on your petals as you do your dance
I feel so unhinged, but you put me in a trance
My little legs slip and I'm in free fall
And the ground beacons me, I hear its call
And I fight the rising need to beat my wings
I whisper a prayer as the other bees sing
