I close my eyes but you're all I can see
I'm lost on a raft and you're the vast sea
And your love is the heat of a relentless sun
It beats down on me and I become undone

So I wet my lips with you, and drench my head
But you say to drop down, to drink you instead
And the brine and the salt that burn my throat
Leave me shriveled up, delirious in my boat

I open my eyes, in your arms once more
You look down at me with those eyes I adore
Your red lips are black against my blue sky
You hold me like a thing, you smile and I sigh

You say you once knew how to love me
And put into words how unlovable I can be
That I'm broken, I'm spoiled and I'm rancid

My misery becomes your addiction
